Chiropractic Manipulation
The act of a 'adjustment' has been repeatedly shown to be a safe and effective treatment for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. The chiropractic physician will assess the joint that may need to be manipulated and then perform a quick
movement into the joint. This movement will usually elicit a "pop"
which the physician will term 'cavitation' or 'audible release'.
The goal of the manipulation is threefold Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy
(McKenzie Method)
The McKenzie Method was developed by Robin McKenzie, a physical
therapist from New Zealand and it is an approach that is trusted and
used by practitioners and patients worldwide for common back and
neck problems. The goal of this protocol is to empower the patient to learn to
control their symptoms which can reduce dependency on medical
intervention. This helps to address a growing demand from patients
and third party payers for professional rehabilitation services that
develop the patient's self-treatment skills in a cost and time
effective manner. There are four major features and effectiveness. Since its introduction into the U.S. medical practitioners of
various specialties have realized its effectiveness for many
conditions. The method and the tape allow the patient to receive
therapeutic benefits 24 hours per day as it can last for several
days per application. Click here to watch a
Video Rehabilitation: Dr. Spencer has taken approximately eighty
hours of post graduate study in both spinal and joint
rehabilitation. Exercises, stretches and home care are given to every patient for
nearly every condition. Specific core stability exercises are
demonstrated and performed in office. The goal is to help correct poor posture, lack of exercise, too
much exercise, repetitive movements as these can all lead to changes
in the biomechanics of the body. Stabilization training is necessary
to prevent aberrant movement patterns and to better allow the body
to distribute forces equally between the musculature and the joints. Distraction Technique:
Considered to be a hybrid between chiropractic and osteopathic
principles, distraction technique has evolved over the last thirty
years.
The technique has been refined by Dr. James Cox, for people with a
"slipped/bulging/ruptured/herniated discs".

tender to touch and maybe even a little warm? Trigger points are a
collection of lactic acid in the musculature that may be active or
latent. An active trigger point is one that, when pressure is
applied will radiate pain distant to the site of pressure whereas a
latent trigger point will only exhibit pain directly under the
pressure. Trigger points are not only pain generators but will also
affect movement in musculature and joints.

Kinesiotape::
This taping method has taken the
rehabilitation and sports medicine world by storm. Developed by Dr.
Kenzo Kase in the 70's. It took Dr. Kase two years for research and
development of Kinesio tape.
